Ancient Greece’s geography included Mountains which separated Greece into separated city states. Greece is surrounded by the ocean. They used the Aegean Sea, the Ionian Sea, and the Black Sea for transportation. Sea travel and Trade was important for Greeks because they didn’t have enough Natural Barriers. Greece has mountains which covered 3/4th of Greece. Most of their land was stony. They had to devide ancient Greece into separate city states because the sea and the mountains made it impossible for 1 king to control.

In ancient Greece the city-state Athens believed that education was more important. athens also believed that everyone was an individual an sparta thought of groups. in athens their government was democracy voted by people. On the other hand Sparta believed that the military was more important. Sparta sent all the boys of the age 7 to prepare for the military. Instead Athens had their students learn from philosophers. Philosophers are people who seek answers to difficult question. Athens had control of all the city states because they controlled the Delian league. The Delian league was controlled by Perciles. He made alliances with the military to strengthen the Athenian empire Sparta got upset and they went to war. Athens had many years of violence and chaos. Perciles hired architects and artist to glorify Athens. Athens had more knowledge and power than Sparta. But Sparta’s military service was stronger. In ancient Greece it was book smarts for Athens and streets smarts for Sparta.

Golden Age of Ancient Greece

A golden age is a time of place and prosperity, usually when new ideas and inventions are created. Or when achievements in art and architecture. The golden age in ancient Greece was when Perciles ruled. He ruled from461 to 429 b. c. He had many policies, his democracy was strong. He formed alliances with the military. Perciles also controlled the Delian league to strengthen the Atherian empire. He controlled other city states. To glorify Athens he paid artist and architects to create art.
